When a documentary crew sets out to explore the lives of residents in a small American town – their dreams, their concerns – they stumble upon the midwestern town of Flatch, which is made up of many eccentric personalities. It’s a place you want to visit and maybe even stay. If there was a decent motel. Which there is not.

The whole town attends the annual Scarecrow Festival, where cousins Kelly and Shrub compete.

Kelly starts a ride-sharing business called "Kuber," and enlists Shrub as her business partner.

When a coveted pair of sneakers lands in a Flatch shoe store, Kelly and Shrub scramble to buy them.

Father Joe redirects Shrub's graffiti to an art class; Kelly gets some quality time with her father.

Kelly inspires Dylan to return to his passion of magic with a visit to Flatch's new magic shop.

Kelly and Shrub volunteer at a senior computer class and the town gets a lesson on catfishing.

Kelly and Shrub attempt to do good deeds in town, hoping to get a reward.

Kelly plans a special dinner when her dad comes home. Meanwhile, Shrub and Beth start spending a lot of time together and Cheryl breaks out her lucky dress for a date with Jimmy.

To increase their social media following, Kelly and Shrub plan to record a surprise reunion with Father Joe and another former member of his religious boy band, A-men.

Shrub gets a new job detailing cars, and Cheryl and Mandy bond over a day of playing hooky.
