After 38 years away, Match of the Day returns to BBC2. Adrian Chiles wraps up the Premiership weekend, with guests, analysis of the key issues, and all the goals. There's highlights of the opening weekend's biggest game, Chelsea v Manchester United, and Arsenal's trip to Everton.

Adrian Chiles looks back at today's Premiership encounters in which West Bromwich Albion took on Midlands rivals Aston Villa and Arsenal took on Middlesbrough - a home-coming of sorts for Ray Parlour, who left the champions in the close season.

Premiership highlights from the Reebok Stadium as Bolton Wanderers entertained Liverpool. There is renewed optimism in the red half of Merseyside after the arrival of new Spanish manager Rafael Benitez. Sam Allardyce's Bolton, however, defied the odds last season with their best ever finish in the top flight. Plus a round-up of yesterday's action, including Blackburn v Manchester United, Aston Villa v Newcastle, Chelsea v Southampton, and Norwich v Arsenal.

New Spurs boss Jacques Santini was keen to beat a Canaries side set on survival - so did Tottenham triumph over newly promoted Norwich? There's also the best of Arsenal's trip to Fulham and away fixtures for Chelsea and Manchester United.
