Gate
On August 20XX, a gate suddenly appears in Tokyo's Ginza district, unleashing a portal where monsters, medieval knights and other fantasy beings come from another world and wreak havoc on Tokyo. The Japanese Defense Force take action against these monsters and push them back into the "Gate". Third Reconnaissance Team is dispatched to the "Special Region" lead by officer (and otaku) Youji Itami. On their travels, they are joined by a beautiful elf girl who is a survivor from the dragon's rampage and guide the group across the dangerous new world.

1. The Self-Defense Force Goes to Another World
23mA mysterious “gate” appears in Tokyo releasing mythical creatures that wreak havoc. Itami, who is part of a special JSDF unit, helps with evacuations.
2. Two Military Forces
23mIn the “Special Region,” JSDF is able to push back the enemy army. Itami joins a recon team aimed at forming a friendly relationship with the locals.
3. Fire Dragon
23mItami's 3rd Recon Unit saves an elf from a village attacked by the Fire Dragon. The villagers of Coda decide to flee to safety
4. To Unknown Lands
23mThe 3rd Recon Unit returns to base with the refugees. Tuka, Lelei and Rory use this time to learn more about each other and strengthen their bond.
5. The Battle of Italica
23mThe 3rd Recon Unit meets Imperial Princess Piña. Itami decides to protect Italica after hearing that Allied soldiers-turned-bandits have attacked.
6. Ride of the Valkyries
23mThe 3rd Recon Unit battles the bandits in Italica. The battle changes course when air support arrives. Piña is stunned by the JSDF’s military might.
7. The Princess's Decision
23mWhile returning from Italica, Itami is captured by the Empire’s Rose Knights. Concerned about JSDF’s response, Piña makes a proposition.
8. Japan, Beyond the Gate
23mPiña, Itami and the others visit different government offices for negotiations. Piña is awestruck by the impressive skyscrapers and people of Tokyo.
9. The Hakone Mountain Night Battle
23mItami hides Tuka and the others in his ex-wife’s apartment. As Piña and Bozes go to the library, Itami meets his old friend, the Minister of Defense.
10. Despair and Hope
23mWhen operatives from the U.S., China and Russia approach, Rory uses her unparalleled combat abilities to join in the three-way fight.
